I have two groups of friends who prefer different types of nightlife activities.
Most of my friends like to go clubbing a lot, in places like Zouk and f-Club. However, there are some, like myself, who prefer to “sit-at-a-bar” and chill.
So for those of you who frequent f-Club, you would probably be pretty disheartened to find out that f-Club is closing down.
Yep, you read that right.
The all-time favourite club of many will be closing down to make room for something bigger.
As it turns out, popular US Bar-Restaurant Coyote Ugly Saloon will be opening in Singapore in January next year, taking over the current location where f-Club is at.
Coyote Ugly Saloon
Now you must be wondering, what in the world is that and how is it going to be any better than f-Club?
Well, Coyote Ugly Saloon is a world-famous restaurant and bar franchise. They’re so famous that they have 26 outlets worldwide, with some in Russia, the United Kingdom, Britain, Japan etc.
Coyote Bar Saloon franchisees have an all-female bartenders and performers crew.
That’s right boys. All-female.
To put it more simply for the guys out there, it is a bar with girls dressed skimpily, as they put on performances and shows. The loud and exciting performances by the women are a mainstay of the international franchise.
Some may even call it the next-level siam diu (Thai Disco).
The reason why they employ an all-female crew is because they see it as a “women-empowered campaign“.
There will be choreographed routines every night to entertain the guests.
Although f-Club is closing in place of this bar, I think a lot of guys would not be too disappointed.
Looking For Coyotes
For those of you who would like to be a part of this women-empowered campaign, you’re in luck because the bar-restaurant chain will be looking for ‘Coyotes’ to staff the new restaurant.
So if you think you have what it takes to be a ‘star behind the bar’, there will be 20 spots up for grabs. But you better hurry and apply before all the spots get filled!
Selected girls could even travel to other franchisee bars across the world to learn properly what it means to be a coyote.
That sounds like a pretty awesome experience to have.
Origins
So how did this whole all-female crew idea come about?
Founder Lil Lovell started as a bartender when she was still studying at New York University. After she graduated, she interned on Wall Street but returned to bartending as the pay was much better.
Lovell was a legendary bartender, who could reportedly “drink with men till they went blind”, and make them drink “out of her boots”.
Yep, they drank out of her boots. That’s how much they ‘worshipped’ her.
Her dream was to open her own bar, and she did.
The fascinating story and the way Lovell ran her business attracted the attention of moviemakers, who turned the Coyote Ugly story into a film. It was later produced by mega-producer Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Michael Bay.
The advent of the movie created huge buzz and interest in the bar, and people from outside of the town where the bar was based started to flood in to see what it’s like.
According to Lovell, she has the finances to open up hundreds of bars but chooses not to because she wants to ensure high standards for all of her Coyote Ugly bars.
So fellas, don’t be too upset that f-Club is closing down because a whole new experience is coming your way!
And for the girls, if your boyfriends disappear in January you know where to find them. 🙂
