POSB/DBS Bringing 42 Pop Up ATMs For S’poreans To Withdraw Good As New $2 Notes

Some time ago, I found myself writing an article on a landline phone in Sydney, Australia, where someone prised it open to reveal a nestling stack of dead cockroaches. Here’s the article should you wish to read it.

Incidentally, I barfed a little bit in my mouth as I was writing it. But that’s for another time.

Yet, now that I think about it, I shouldn’t have been that grossed out by mere cockroaches. After all, we’re constantly dealing with something arguably worse:

Money notes.

Every day, we’re swapping out our existing bank notes for others, whether it’s for change or just purchase reasons. And really, that gets you thinking;

Where has that money note been, exactly?

What if the guy handing you the money actually picked it up from a drain?

What if that chio bu passing you money didn’t have toilet paper, and actually used that crinkly, dubiously brownish $50 note to wipe her ass?

Yeah, it gets pretty trigger-worthy. And that’s also why POSB’s pop-up ATMs are so welcome. Because for the first time in a long while…

You’re gonna be able to get bank notes that haven’t exchanged hands for like 69,000 times.

Although granted, the new notes are really for all your CNY needs.

Good luck, attached adults; it’s gonna be a hectic few days.
