Preetipls Writes Reflection Note On IG After She Was Given A 2-Year Conditional Warning

After a few weeks of the Preetipls saga, it seems like it’s coming to a close.

In case you’ve missed it, Preetipls and her brother, Subhas Nair, are given a 2-year conditional warning by the police.

What’s a conditional warning?

Remember the peeping tom incident in NUS? Yeah, the guy was given a 12-month conditional warning for filming Monica Baey in the shower, too.

Simply put, Preetipls & her brother must not commit the offence again for two years, or their new offence and this offence would be dealt with in court.

In other words, like what many of us said during the Monica Baey incident, it’s a second chance.

And immediately after receiving this, it seems that Preetipls is prepared to let things end here.

Reflection Note

On the same day the outcome hit the news, Preetipls uploaded a post on her Instagram account.

In it, she thanked people for standing by the sibling’s side for the past two weeks, as well as those who didn’t try to kick them when they’re down.

She added that she understood people’s reactions to their music video and that she will no longer be justifying it.

Still Standing By Her Point

However, she won’t be Preetipls if she just rolled over after a conditional warning, right?

Through this incident, she hoped that people will be more careful with face paint and offensive rap videos.

Of course, she couldn’t resist pointing out that big corporations get away with “major screw-ups” by “doing the least” at some point in her post.

“xoxo Preetipls – SG’s TOP Conditional Warning receiver”.

The case is closed. I wrote down a couple of things off the top of my head, don’t worry this one very PG13. Thank you to every one who understood our intentions behind the music video. Thank you to all the friends, clients, fans and everyone who offered any form of help/legal advice/comfort to us in the last 2 weeks. Thank you to everyone who didn’t try to kick us while we were down but instead attempt to understand discrimination and it’s several forms. also shoutout to the tough ones who tried to fend us from psychotic trolls online…don’t bother next time la that one lost cause haha Don’t get me wrong – I understand exactly why people got offended with the MV so I’m not here to justify it, I am here to say thank you and let’s hope we don’t see anymore painted faces and “offensive rap videos” ever again. It sickens me when corporations get away with major screw ups by doing the literal least – we see this all around the world and I guess this is no longer news to me anymore but we should all strive to be more accountable, both individually and as corporations. if you have body paint out there…pls use it wisely, we don’t need this to ever happen again. Thanks and back to work 🙂 DISCLAIMER: I have no idea if the ads are still up, this image was taken on the day I shot the MV (28 July) xoxo, Preetipls – SG’s TOP Conditional Warning receiver.

And that’s it, time to let sleeping dogs lie.

The offending party has reflected on her actions, Dennis Chew has spoken up about the incident and the guys behind the E-Pay advertisement has apologised as well.
