Man made ingredients come from natural ingredients, so it wouldn’t come as a surprise to you if we tell you using natural ingredients can help us in our daily lives, right?

These ingredients, because they have not gone through processing and price hikes by corporations, can be an inexpensive alternative to spending on more expensive detergents among many others.

Here’s an ingredient you can use in your laundry to whiten, brighten, reduce odor and soften clothes without the use of harsh chemicals or getting expensive detergents.

White Vinegar

Distilled white vinegar can be added into your laundry and are safe to use in both standard and high-efficiency washing machines.

All vinegar contains acetic acid, an ingredient which helps to brighten and kill odors in your clothes. Also, white vinegar is produced from the second fermentation of dilute distilled alcohol and is less acidic than other vinegar, ranging from 4 to 7 percent of acidity.

Do note that you have to get distilled white vinegar as they do not contain tannis which are natural plant dyes that can stain your clothing.

Distilled white vinegar is inexpensive and can be found next to apple cider vinegar in supermarkets and stores. Not only do they brighten and whiten your white clothes, they can help protect dark colors too, so don’t worry if you want to wash your dark colored clothes without bleaching them into a weird color.

White vinegar also has properties which can remove odors such as sweat and cigarette odor. In addition, they help soften clothes naturally without the use of a chemical processed softener and erase hem lines and reduces lint.

To get rid of stains in white clothing or fabrics, add one cup of the distilled white vinegar into a large bucket of water and boil before soaking the clothes overnight.

Wash the clothes in the washing machine after the soak and you’ll be able to see the difference.

Just be sure to only use this hack on 100% cotton clothing in order not to cause any damage to the material.
