Qatar Airways Giving 100K Free Flights to Healthcare Workers in all Countries

Healthcare workers have undoubtedly been given a lot of “thank yous” this period. In fact, there might have been too many of those without any actual practical use, considering that there are memes like this:

But now, there might be something slightly more useful from Qatar Airways:

100K Free Flights to Healthcare Professionals in all Countries

What use are free flights when governments actively encourage people not to fly? Well, those who got the free flights have until 26 November to book the flight.

Which means they can either choose to use it immediately to go home or save it for later.

The flights will also remain “fully flexible” for both destinations and dates because of the current situation.

This announcement by Qatar Airways was made in honour of International Nurses Day 2020 on 12 May 2020.

I’m sure you’re also tired of seeing thank you messages at this point, so let’s just say that Qatar Airways had more than a few paragraphs thanking the healthcare workers.

Giveaway From 11 to 18 May 2020

As long as you’re a healthcare professional (including Doctors, Medical practitioners, Nurses, Lab Technicians, Clinical Researchers, and Pharmacists), you are eligible to win a pair of tickets.

That’s right. A pair, so it’s you and a +1.

Follow us on Telegram for more informative & easy-to-read articles, or download the Goody Feed app for articles you can’t find on Facebook!

Each country is allocated tickets based on population size daily, although it seems to be based on a first-come-first-served basis. All you got to do is sign up here. It opens 5:01pm ET on 11 May through 4:59pm ET on 18 May.

Winners are announced on the following day. If you won the tickets, you’ll get a promo code. But you’re the only one who can use this since you need to produce the original medical identification at the airport check-in at the time of departure.

The destinations are wherever Qatar Airways serve. The website also says that “tickets will be fully flexible, with an unlimited number of destination or date changes allowed without any fees”.

You can book the tickets from 12 May to 28 November 2020, but the travel period is 26 May to 10 December 2020 (last outbound travel).

Tickets are economy class roundtrips but don’t cover taxes. Selected healthcare professionals will also get a 5% discount to any Qatar Duty-Free retail outlets at the airline’s hub at the Hamad International Airport (HIA) in Doha. If you’re a Privilege Club member, you’ll also earn Qmiles from this.

Talking about travel seems like a very stupid thing to do now, but I guess one can hope that the situation gets better soon.
