Fiona Xie or 謝宛諭 is coming back to Singapore (and also Mediacorp) after her long hiatus of 7 years.
She’s popularly known for her sitcom 小精灵 and Maggie & Me before she left Singapore. Fans of Fiona can expect to see her on TV really soon again!
She will be appearing on TV this August
Fiona will be making her comeback this August, starring in a Channel 5 series that consists of 7 episodes. She’ll be taking the role of psychiatrist and we’re all excited to see a hot doctor!
Her reason for coming back
Fiona stated that her coming back was mainly family commitments and her nostalgic heart, so does that mean she misses home or acting? We take it she misses both!
Nobody knows why she left Singapore
Most of us didn’t really know her real reason for leaving Singapore. There were rumours that said she was pregnant and being a star-for-hire at New York parties.
She was often seen in extravagant parties with Arissa Cheo, the famous wealthy Singaporean who was previously married to Vaness Wu.
She claimed that she left to pursue other interests
Fiona cited that she left to pursue her other interests in the arts, such as photography and fashion in both Hong Kong and New York.
There were not many updates about her life overseas except for her occasional social media posts.
She was dating someone extremely rich
Fiona was dating an extremely rich tycoon in Hong Kong. That was probably the reason for her pregnancy rumours.
She left during her “peak of career”
It was revealed that Fiona ended her contract with Mediacorp previously at what was considered the peak of her career.
The 34-year-old had mentioned that she did not “feel whole” from her acting career at that point of time and that she disliked doing silly stuff on TV that was frowned upon.
She still kept her Instagram fan base alive
Despite her absence, her loyal fans are still keeping track and connecting with her on Instagram as seen from her account of 107k followers.
So fans, are you excited for her return to the TV screen? You bet the (male) writers in the office are!
