I am sure you would have come across an article about a 19-year old Iranian woman named Sahar Tabar who apparently underwent 50 surgeries to look like Angelina Jolie.
If you have not, let me show you then.
Just a little warning, the image is pretty disturbing.
She looks more like Emily from Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride film.
An uncanny resemblance, don’t you think?
Her emaciated appearance has gone viral with people all over the world in a state of disbelief.
But not all of them were convinced as they started to do some social media investigation.
Something’s Wrong, Though
Reddit user, zaza9000, analysed the pictures and found a few things suspicious.
The user pointed out that some parts of the photo were blurred.
In the thread, the user said, “I do believe she got plastic surgery, but it’s more or less make up and extremely exaggerating her features that she got done.”
Well, like most things on the internet, you can’t take things at face value.
Confession
Before the situation could implode, Tabar came forward to dispel her own ruse, admitting that it was a hoax.
It wasn’t known what made her step forward to clarify. Although it was speculated that she might’ve faced harassment together with her brief one minute of fame.
She mentioned in an interview that she created the images using make-up and photoshop for her own entertainment.
That is something we all have done. Okay, maybe just me.
I guess she didn’t expect that her pictures would be a worldwide sensation.
She’s Not Bad Looking, Actually
For those who want to know what she looks like under all that make-up and editing, well, let’s just say she looks nothing like Angelina Jolie.
E/N: Damnnnnnnnnn.
BTW, She Was Arrested
If you’re wondering how she’s doing now, she’s not doing great.
On 7 Oct 2019, Sahar was arrested on the orders of Teheran’s guidance court in Iran. This court specifically deals with “cultural crimes and social and moral corruption”.
It was reported that she faces charges including:
- Blasphemy
- Inciting violence
- Gaining income through inappropriate means
- Encouraging youths to corruption
Yes, it was with regards to her brief stint as the corpse bride, Angelina-Jolie version, back in 2018.
E/N: Again. Damnnnnnnnnn.
