Residents Spooked by Voices & Screams from JC In the Dead of Night

We’ve all heard of haunted school ghost stories; heck, in fact, I’ll go out on a limb to say that every school is haunted, even if it’s built just one day ago.

The D&T room is always making weird noises at night, sounds of basketball bouncing at 12:00 a.m. are common and shadowy figures are spotted every night by students camping in the school.

Usually, these are rumours from seniors to scare the juniors. After all, that’s what school life is all about: fun. Upon graduation, they’ll be faced with scarier stuff like nasty bosses, GST increases and office politics.

But nothing comes close to this latest revelation, because it’s not a story planted by a male senior hoping to sian a young female junior: it’s by a resident who stays near the school, and this is nothing unlike what we’ve read in True Singapore Ghost Stories. Or what we’ve heard from seniors.

And most importantly, it’s not just one person experiencing it.

Facebook User Who Lives Next to TPJC Hears Some Weird Sounds

Facebook user Alireza Mazouchian posted a series of images and a revelation that might just get into the next True Singapore Ghost Stories, for it has so far garnered well over 800 Shares.

According to his post, here’s what he allegedly noticed:

• Weird sounds (voices) from school around midnight or slightly later
• Neighbours noticed the sounds as well
• It is clearly not sounds of camp activities in the school

Here’s what he wrote in full:

Erm guys, to be frank, TPJC is creepy man.

Especially eversince they started working on closing down the school, many weird noises (i mean voices) have been heard from the school. Just 5mins ago a loud scream was heard coming from the school itself. 3 neighbours just came down and even asked me if i heard a scream coming from somewhere inside the school.

Look, i usually stand out here by the corridor of my house (by the lift) for a smoke. And these creepy noises have been going on and on. Most people/ neighbours from my block have already realised this. But we got no clue on whats going on in the school at times like this in the middle of the night. I mean we can ofcourse differentiate what student camp activities are. Furthur more besides serving with the Armed Forces, i used to be an MOE Certified Camp Instructor for schools etc. for few years as well. Even used to work together with the SAF on their warrent officers camps & trainings in the jungle. So i was pretty sure what i been seeing lately. And this we know it isnt some camp activity. Its just something’s going on in the school in the middle of the night that we just dont know about.

Someone from that school have got to check it out man. It usually happens around midnight or slightly later..

And im telling you, seriously, its starting to become more disturbing.. Hope they tear it down as quickly a possible. Thats all i’ve got to say. Cheers.

– We know what we saw. And so these are the areas where “a lady in white”(you know what i mean) were spotted. 3rd floor classroom corridor area and the canteen.

Accompanying his post is an album of images showing how dark the area is, but a few of them were even spookier, like this, which was pointed out by another user:

Can’t tell much, so I’ve increased the exposure here to have a better look.

Crap, it suddenly feels a little colder here in the office.

He Went to Investigate it Further

Heck, if that were me, I’ll have sold off the flat and move to Jurong. But Alireza Mazouchian went to take an image of that previous sighting from a different angle and saw nothing.

Oh. It’s just the wall and lights lah.

But still…

History of TPJC: Due to Be Merged ‘Coz Babies Not Enough

The school has been suffering from declining cohort size since 2014, so there is no new intake since this year. It is due to merge with Meridian Junior College next year with the name of Tampines Meridian Junior College, with the new site at Meridian Junior College’s campus.

Yeah, this means this school would be abandoned by next year. And yeah, this means this school’s supposed to have less students this year, too.

Got into the News for Another Spooky Reason Last Year

To add the -iest to creepy, this was written on the school wall, near the canteen, last year.

According to the report, it’s stated that “internal investigations show that the scribbling is likely to be an act of mischief. The marking on the wall has since been removed.”

I’m sure this has nothing to do with this recent incident, but hey: it has been a while since we’ve heard such a compelling ghost story in Singapore.
