Russia’s Putin Put His Nuclear Weapons on High Alert in Response to Sanctions & NATO’s Statements

You’d know by now that there’s an ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, and one of the reasons why the US has not intervened is to avoid a second Cold War, whereby the US and the then Soviet Union live in fear of nuclear bombs.

But now, President Putin from Russia has used the “N” word.

Russia’s Putin Put His Nuclear Arms on High Alert in Response to Sanctions & NATO’s Statements

Three days after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Putin went on Russia state television to announce something that no one would want to hear.

He said, “As you can see, not only do Western countries take unfriendly measures against our country in the economic dimension—I mean the illegal sanctions that everyone knows about very well – but also the top officials of leading NATO countries allow themselves to make aggressive statements with regards to our country.”

You can watch this video to the end to know what other countries are doing or saying:

In the special televised address, he added, “I order the defence minister and the chief of the general staff of the Russian armed forces to put the deterrence forces of the Russian army into a special mode of combat service.”

The “deterrence forces” are units that include nuclear arms.

Ever since the Cold War, countries all over the world have been slowly disarming their nuclear arsenal, but the US and Russia, two countries that were directly involved in the Cold War and were also in an arms race, currently still have over 10,000 nuclear warheads between the two of them.

Russia allegedly has about 6,000 nuclear warheads.

Lest you’re unaware, one of them can wipe out an entire city.

Ukraine to Hold Talks With Russia

Within an hour after the announcement, Ukraine said that it would be holding talks with Russia at its border with Belarus after a call between Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky and Belarus leader Alexander Lukashenko.

The Ukraine President office said, “The politicians agreed that the Ukrainian delegation would meet the Russian one without preconditions at the Ukraine-Belarus border, near the Pripyat River.”

It’s unknown when the talks will take place, though.
