For those who are hoping to see Low Thia Kiang make a comeback, and Nicole Seah in the position of an MP, I’ve got great news for you.

You’re going to get your wish…sort of.

Low Thia Khiang, Nicole Seah & Other WP Members Will Help in Sengkang GRC as 2 MPs Taking Maternity Leave

Previously, when the young Workers’ Party Sengkang team ran for elections, they positioned themselves as young parents who are in touch with the problems that young families are facing in Singapore today.

One of them, Raeesah Khan, announced her pregnancy on the first day of parliament, making it a “parliament baby”.

Well, turns out that it wasn’t just her.

Sengkang GRC MP He Ting Ru is also expecting a baby and both of them will be going on maternity leave.

That doesn’t mean that the GRC is left to the two remaining team members, including one Jamus Lim oppa, to helm.

On 24 Dec 2020, Opposition Leader Pritam Singh took to his Facebook page to announce the happy news.

While the two ladies give birth safely, Sengkang GRC will also be left in safe hands.

He revealed that WP members will support both MPs’ work in Sengkang GRC on a rotational basis.

Duties

These members will stand in for He Ting Ru and Raeesah Khan for the weekly Meet-the-People Sessions, house visits and walking the estates, he detailed.

Team WP’s work in Sengkang GRC, he added, will be directed and coordinated by He and Raeesah’s offices respectively, he added.
