Shawn Mendes Takes Selfie With S’pore Fans & Gets Tattooed In Haji Lane

Sometime last week, my uncle Princeton the First suddenly went into a fit, screaming and punching the air as the entire family converged on him.

“Omg, what’s happening?”

“What’s wrong, Uncle Princeton the First?”

“Somebody call the cops and say that Princeton the First is having a fit!”

“What’s wrong, son of Princeton the Beast?”

Just when we were about to slap his face and wake him out of his violent stupor, he held out a ticket.

“I. Got. A. Ticket. To. Shawn. Mendes’. Concert,” he said.

There was a pregnant pause.

“Am I the luckiest guy or what?” he screamed before he continued punching the air. “I mean; I had to pay like 2000 bucks on Carousell, but Shawn Mendes is like so… hansup!

“You mean handsome?”

“Omg I can’t take it anymore!!” he yelled, before he ran into his room and closed his door with a bang. Moments later we heard weird noises coming from his room, but we declined to know more.

“As long as he’s happy, everything’s fine,” we smiled.

And then days later, as I sat on my comfortable office chair writing out a couple of comfortable articles, I was handed the following topic:

Shawn Mendes Takes Selfie With S’pore Fans & Gets Tattoos In Haji Lane

And after reading it, I had one singular thought:

Poor Uncle Princeton the First. They didn’t have to pay a single buck and they got closer to him than you probably ever will.

Shawn Mendes Takes Selfie With S’pore Fans

The introductory paragraph might’ve been one filled with fluff, but the gist is real.

Shawn Mendes was spotted out and about in the lion city, and gamely posed for photos with fans.

Now as you might already be aware of, the Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter is performing at the Singapore Indoor Stadium today (4 October 2019) as part of his World Tour.

He had arrived at Changi Airport late on Wednesday (2 October 2019) to a huge crowd of supporters.

And on Thursday (3 October 2019), the Canadian performer, 21, had toured the city of his own volition, exploring Singapore’s hidden gem in the form of Haji Lane.

And upon seeing the star, Singapore fans swiftly turned up for a serious game of #selfiewithShawnMendes.

He Even Got A Tattoo

As it turns out, Shawn Mendes didn’t just turn up at Haji Lane for a couple of selfies;

He also got a tattoo from local artist @andraytheposeur at Bada Bink Tattoo Firm.

Inked with the words “Good Luck” on the back of his left arm, Mendes was apparently inspired by the design on a saucer, which the singer had posted on his Instagram Stories in June.

No clue why Mendes would need anymore luck though. With two sold-out world tours under his belt, a loving girlfriend in the form of Camila Cabelo, a fine, chiselled physique and exceptional talent, I think we can all agree when we say that he’s luckier than my Uncle Princeton the First.

Like a whole lot luckier.

On a side note, Singapore’s the third Asian stop on Mendes’ World Tour, following performances in Bangkok and Shanghai. He will next perform in Kuala Lumpur (5 October 2019), Jakatar (8 October 2019), Manila (10 October 2019), Macau (13 October 2019) and Tokyo (16 October 2019), before moving on to Australia.

Heads up for all the international fans out there, eh? 😉
