Singapore actors Hong Ling, 32, and Nick Teo, 37, are expecting their first child.
The couple announced the pregnancy on Instagram on Tuesday, 22 September, sharing a video that included ultrasound images and moments from when they discovered Hong Ling was pregnant.
According to Lianhe Zaobao, Hong Ling is about three months pregnant and is due to give birth in 2027.
They First Suspected the Pregnancy While Filming in Vietnam
Hong Ling told Zaobao that she and Teo were filming in Vietnam when she realised her period was late.
They bought a regular pregnancy test there after being unable to find an electronic one. The test showed a faint positive result, but the couple were initially unsure.
After returning to Singapore, they tested again at the airport, where the pregnancy was confirmed more clearly. Their Instagram video included footage of the couple celebrating and embracing after seeing the result.
Hong Ling said hearing their baby’s heartbeat during the first ultrasound was an emotional moment for both of them.
She also told Zaobao that she has not experienced morning sickness so far and has had a good appetite. She intends to continue with everyday life, although she may adjust her acting work depending on her physical condition as the pregnancy progresses.
They Have Not Picked a Name Yet
Despite already getting questions about names and even schooling, the couple have not seriously decided on a name.
Hong Ling said they are taking things one step at a time. As for whether they are hoping for a boy or girl, she said they would be happy with either.
The couple have also spoken about potentially wanting more than one child in future, as they have previously imagined having both a son and a daughter.
Hong Ling and Teo registered their marriage in December 2023 after dating for eight years.
Couple Previously Shared About Pregnancy Loss
The pregnancy comes after the couple publicly shared in May 2025 that Hong Ling had suffered a miscarriage earlier that year.
At the time, they spoke about the grief of losing the pregnancy and their decision to eventually share the experience publicly.
Hong Ling told Zaobao that the previous experience has made the current pregnancy especially meaningful to them. For now, she said their main hope is for the baby to develop healthily and arrive safely.
The pair are also currently appearing together in Channel 8 crime drama In His Hands.
