The ongoing epidemic may have ‘crippled’ the most gung-ho of travellers, but it seems that some have found ways to contravene the notion…
By going through with a tour across the country instead.
On 15 August, Facebook user Spencer Li posted a list called the ‘Singapore Travel Bucketlist Challenge’ on his Facebook page, detailing the different things that could be done on this small island alone.
In total, there are 97 segments to complete, with 8 of them described as being “extra challenging”.
Man Created ‘Travel List’ in S’pore for Wanderlusters Who Die-Die Must Travel During This Pandemic
According to the post, challenges include travelling to such places as Science Centre, Wild Wild Wet and Fort Canning Park.
Some of the more inaccessible locations, like Tanglin Hill Brunei Hostel and Neo Tiew Estate, are also available on the list.
To date, the Facebook user has checked a whopping 48 locations off the list, though it’s a testament to how vast the list is that he has still only achieved 50% of it.
Apparently, challengers have until the end of the year to complete the challenge.
He has also called for users to suggest places he might have missed out on, and tell him the number of places they have since collected.
“Good luck, and support local!” he wrote.

Enthusiasm
Despite being posted just three days ago, the post has swiftly gone viral, garnering over 1.7K shares and 300 comments.
Gauging by the comments, Netizens were also absolutely stoked.
Many, it should be noted, proceeded to tag their friends to share the ‘joy’.
Others offered constructive remarks, with one suggesting ‘Keppel Bay yacht area’ and ‘One Marina yacht area’ as possible inclusions to the list.
Several also partook actively in the challenge, documenting the places they’ve been to and the places they’ve yet to travel to.
Tourism Credits
On a side note, if you’ve missed the ministerial speech by our dearest DPM Heng Swee Keat, he revealed that one of the latest measures to help Singapore through Covid-19 economically is the development of tourism credits that Singaporeans can use to re-discover Singapore.
More details will be revealed by the Ministry of Trade and Industry next month so you might want to challenge the more expensive locations later.
Maybe your challenge to drink expensive coke at RWS could be subsidised or even free, eh?
All in all, one thing’s for sure;
Amidst a time of such distress, we can only be thankful for such challenges, which help to preserve the spirit of the most vigorous wanderlusters.
Plus, it costs nowhere near a routine aeroplane ticket price either, so that’s a definite boon.
And so… what’re you waiting for?
If you’re starved of ideas on where to go or are just looking for an alternative to your yearly Hokkaido affair…
Well, I say it’s high time that we breach unknown grounds…
On our own land.
