Previously, it was announced that the SingapoRediscovers vouchers will expire by the end of this year, but there might be a possibility that the deadline would be extended.
It’s now confirmed that the deadline will be extended but with a condition: you must make your booking by this year.
SingapoRediscovers Vouchers’ Validity Extended to 31 March 2022 But Bookings Must Be Made Before 31 Dec 2021
On the first workday of the school holidays, Singapore Tourism Board (STB) finally announced the extension of the SingapoRediscovers vouchers’ validity.
Acknowledging that “some Singaporeans may not have been able to use their SRVs due to reduced group sizes and capacity limits at tourism establishments,” STB said that this extension “allows Singaporeans more time to enjoy their SRV experiences.”
The condition is that Singaporeans must book their tickets via the five authorised booking partners (Changi Recommends, GlobalTix, Klook, Traveloka and Trip.com) before 31 December 2021, and the tickets will be valid until 31 March 2022.
Come 1 January 2022, all booking slots will be closed completely.
Lest you’ve forgotten, every Singaporean aged 18 and above has $100 worth of tourism vouchers which can be used in Singapore. As of early this month, it’s revealed that almost half of all the vouchers haven’t been used.
STB added, “We strongly encourage Singaporeans to plan ahead and book their experiences early, especially for the upcoming festive season and school holidays in December and March.”
In addition, they also reminded Singaporeans not to resell or exchange the vouchers for cash, saying, “STB conducts regular checks to ensure the SRVs are used for their intended purposes and will not hesitate to take action against businesses or individuals that abuse the SRV scheme.”
Last month, the police arrested three people linked to a travel agency for their suspected involvement in fraudulent redemptions of SingapoRediscovers Vouchers.
If you don’t intend to use them and do not want them to go to waste, you can donate them, which you can do so at the booking partners.
