SLR Revolution has reached out to clarify the issue. More information can be found below. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.)

It seems like the SLR Revolution at Excelsior Mall isn’t having a good time recently.

First, it was found out that one of their employees wasn’t socially-responsible enough to stay home when he’s unwell.

Then, a female Covid-19 case was possibly linked to the infected employee because she had been to the shop and could’ve interacted with him.

That was when the Ministry of Health (MOH) decided to facilitate Covid-19 testing for all visitors to the shop on 1 and 2 Aug 2020.

A week after, SLR Revolution reopened the outlet at the mall and said that a new team from Jurong Point, which has no interaction with the original Excelsior Mall crew, will man the counters.

Just as you thought “all’s well that ends well”, this happens.

SLR Revolution At Excelsior Mall Declared A Covid-19 Cluster After New Case Emerges

On 30 Aug 2020, one of the cases in the community reported yesterday was a 57-year-old Singaporean man who worked together with the first Covid-19 case detected within the shop.

He has been on quarantine since his colleague had tested positive on 20 Aug 2020.

SLR Revolution previously took to their Facebook page to share that all of the Excelsior branch employees have been placed on quarantine and tested negative for the infection.

However, late last night, the brand took to their Facebook page to announce that, unfortunately, one of their numbers tested positive for the second round of tests.

Previously, it was mentioned by MOH that the coronavirus has an average incubation period of 4 to 5 days so sometimes, you might already have the virus but it won’t be detectable yet.

With the addition of the 57-year-old, there are now four Covid-19 cases from the shop and the Ministry of Health (MOH) declared it a new Covid-19 cluster.

So far, MOH says they’ve managed to identify and contact 240 people, out of which, 224 are already tested and their results are pending.

Patient “Zero”

In cases of a pandemic, patient zero is used to describe the original carrier which introduces the virus into a system, and technically, that’s what the first Covid-19 case within the Excelsior Mall SLR Revolution outlet is.

The man, a 61-year-old Singaporean, experienced mild symptoms on 17 August 2020.

On 18 Aug, the man felt well enough to return to work. He was not showing symptoms then. Midway through the workday, he started experiencing symptoms again and went to see a doctor.

He was then placed on medical leave until he tested positive on 20 Aug 2020.

A 65-year-old Singaporean woman who tested positive on 23 Aug was linked to him. Then, a 31-year-old Covid-19 case was found possibly linked to him.

And now, a colleague has been infected as well.

Moral of the story? Be paranoid.
