Are you a sneakerhead? Are you someone who loves sneakers and collects them?
Well, it’s time to rejoice because the world’s largest sneaker convention is coming to Singapore. And it’s not going to let a nasty bug called COVID-19 get in the way.
First Time Being Held In SEA
This is the very first time the sneaker convention, also known as Sneaker Con, is coming to Southeast Asia, and it’s being held at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre on 20 and 21 June 2020. After having been founded in 2009 in New York, the convention has made its rounds around more than 40 cities in the world and attracted over a million attendees.
Yep, that’s how big this event is.
In order to cater to the large crowd, the event also has an online platform for shoppers to buy and sell sneakers, but unfortunately, shipping is only made available to those living in the United States.
Headed by the man himself who designed shoes like the Nike Air Max 1/97, Sean Wotherspoon will also be designing exclusive merchandise for the event, and more details will be released closer to the event dates.
You will also get the chance to attend a meet-and-greet session with him!
Things To Expect
Since this is probably the first time that most of you sneakerheads are going to such an event in Singapore, here are some things that you can expect.
There will be many industry leaders, collectors, resellers and influencers present, and you will even be able to meet and talk to them through special panel discussions.
You will also be able to see a skatepark and a basketball court that will be set up at the event.
Interested to buy, sell, or trade sneakers? Fret not because you’ll be able to do that at this event, and if you’re afraid of buying sneakers from random strangers because they may not be able to prove the authenticity of the sneakers, on-site experts will be stationed at the Sneaker Con Authenticated Station to verify the authenticity of your shoes. You can definitely enjoy this event without having to worry about being scammed.
Event Details
So is admission free? If not, where can I purchase tickets from?
Unfortunately, this event isn’t free. Tickets are starting at $52 and they can be bought from Klook. While this may not be very cheap, I’m sure it’s worth it for you sneakerheads especially since you will get to purchase exclusive items.
Please do take note that there are different tickets for Singapore residents and non-Singapore residents, so do make sure that you buy the right ones!
