Son Used 18-cm-long Knife to Threaten & Injure Mother for Asking Him to Get a Job

What a bleak piece of news to kick off Mother’s Day.

Apparently, a drunk 55-year-old unemployed son pushed his 77-year-old mum down and even took a knife to her throat, threatening to kill her, after she nagged him about getting a job.

If anything, this should serve as a reminder that the only reason mums nag, it’s because they love you and care about you.

People who don’t usually just don’t bother to nag you anyway and will just watch, probably even with some popcorn, as you trot down the wrong path.

Alcohol-fuelled rage leading up to the death threat

On Feb 18, in the afternoon, the accused used his ang pow money to buy a pack of beer, and drank all six cans of them at once.

At that time, the 77-year-old mother was cooking lunch in the kitchen.

She noticed that her 5-year-unemployed son is loitering around the house and not actively looking for a job, so she did what all mothers do… – although we have a love/hate relationship with it – … she nagged him to go find a job.

The mother’s words made the accused angry… very angry.

In his drunken rage, he went into the kitchen and pushed his mother to the ground, knocking over a chair as she fell.

The mum tried to stand back up at least 3 times but he kept pushing her down every time she did so.

The accused then took out four knives and placed them one by one on the kitchen table.

He selected the 18-cm-long knife before placing it at his mother’s neck, threatening her, “Later, I will use this knife to hack you to death!”

After hearing that, his mother stopped resisting and the accused eventually calmed down.

Fearing that the accused might use the knives to threaten her life again, the 77-year-old mum subsequently hid the knives in her bedroom.

The accused eventually noticed that his mum is bleeding so he called the police and has his mother sent to the hospital for treatment.

According to the medical report, the accused’s mother has an injury on her head, and multiple fractures on her pelvis and thigh.

She was hospitalized.

A year in prison for injuring and threatening his own mum

During the court hearing on May 7, the prosecutor pointed out that the accused had injured his own birth mother.

Although he may not have intentionally wanted to cause her serious harm, her injuries are pretty serious, and as such, he should be sentenced to 14 months in prison.

The accused, on the other hand, is not represented in court, but he begged for a lighter sentence, saying that he greatly regretted his actions.

He then apologized to his mom, and hoped that she would be able to forgive him.

The judge decided that since the accused is a first-time offender, he will be sentenced to 12 months in jail instead.
