Father’s day.
It’s a day for us to commemorate our fathers for loving us, for caring for us, for being our very first role model other than our mothers.
Of course, we shouldn’t just thank our fathers on that day because they have shown their love and concern for us our entire lives. But that day is a good reminder to all of us to treasure our fathers and be thankful for them every single day.
A man who is most likely from the Philippines wanted to surprise his dad by returning home for Father’s day. He even had an elaborate plan ready. He filmed his entire preparation process where he spoke to the camera in Tagalog when he was on his way to his dad’s house.
6:30 minutes into the video, the man is seen walking along the corridor of what seems to be an apartment block with three helium balloons in his hand when he is suddenly met with a few people. They seemed to have said something to him as he pushes past them.
Instead of seeing his father welcoming him home with open arms, he’s met with a lifeless body on a bed.
As he approached the lifeless body, people around him started trying to console him, but he immediately lost it when he realised that the lifeless body belonged to his father.
It was supposed to be a happy occasion…
The man wails loudly and yells in Tagalog, seemingly begging his father to wake up. He stomps his feet over and over again, unable to hide his pain and sadness. The person behind the camera can also be heard sobbing.
The ten-minute video is hard to watch and is really depressing.
You can watch it below if you want. But don’t say I didn’t warn you, it’s really quite hard to watch.

The man shared videos of him and his father on his Facebook, showing that they were actually very close.
We extend our deepest condolences to the man and his family.
It is absolutely heartbreaking to see someone break down so hard. What he thought would be a happy occasion for the both of them turned out to be the saddest day of his life instead.
This really goes to show us that life is unpredictable and we need to cherish the ones around us. Don’t take them for granted because anything can happen.
Tell your loved ones that you love them today. Don’t wait until it’s too late.
