Before you girls (and some guys) scream in joy, here’s the key word: rumoured.
If you’ve watched the show (which I guess you should have, if not you won’t be here, right?), you’ll know that there needs to be a new main lead, simply because everyone, except Seong-kyeong (the pregnant lady) and Su-an (the main lead’s daughter), dies.
Unless the producers are looking to make a movie with zombies being the main characters, they would need new faces.
According to GameNGuide, a news and review website based in New York, they reported that “sources” have claimed that Song Joong Ki will star in the sequel, with him being the person taking care of Su-an. Instead of a soldier, he will be playing a doctor.
In another article, the producers have since come out to say that these are unfounded rumours, and even the movie Train to Busan 2 isn’t confirmed.
Okay, so someone from New York got the sources for Big Boss’s next move.
At this moment, our Big Boss Song Joong Ki is busy filming and doing promotions for his new movie, Battleship Island, which is scheduled to be out on the big screen in the first half of 2017.
Train to Busan has been a hit in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong: it is the highest grossing Korean film in these three countries, bringing in a totality of $16.46 million. It grosses for about $99 million worldwide, with an approval rating of 94% in Rotten Tomatoes.
