Me: Hey, here’s an idea. Let’s quit our jobs, buy an $11,000 van and travel the world!
Brain: No we need money and stability.

Well, according to Must Share News, that’s exactly what this Singaporean couple did.
Jacinda was a freelance emcee while Martin worked in e-commerce and sales before they decided to leave their jobs and travel from Singapore to Portugal (yes, read that carefully: it’s Portugal, not Punggol)in a camper van.
If you want to watch their adventures, check out the 24 Hour Travellers, which will feature the couple’s travels.
Bruce the Camper Van
If I ever buy a camper van, I’m going to give it a cool human name, like Matilda or Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Because that’s what this Singaporean couple did – they purchased a 2-litre Toyota HiAce in Malaysia for $11,800 and named it Bruce.
They also spent an additional S$5,000 to renovate the interior, which includes adding a solar panel on the roof of the vehicle – pretty high tech I must say.
And if you’re wondering, yes, they also sleep, eat and live in this van!
Travelling hotel room? I like that idea.Â

Why?
Then begs the question. Why?
Well, according to Jacinda, people always say that we should only go on these long trips after retirement and that the 20s and 30s are for your career.
As a result, she told Must Share News there’s “no life in-between” youth and retirement. This motivated her to embark on the trip.
In fact, Martin had had some reservations about going but Jacinda managed to convince him otherwise.
They’re currently in Thailand, en route on their journey.

Hopefully, their story will inspire other Singaporeans to take the path less travelled in pursuit of their dreams and ambitions.
Bye, I’m going to hand in my resignation letter and pack my bags now!
