We’ve heard of weddings in the most unconventional places.
Coffee shops. McDonalds. Heck, even a columbarium.
But a wedding at a Ya Kun outlet? That’s new.
S’pore Couple Hosted Their Wedding in a Ya Kun Outlet
So apparently, a couple was so enamoured with the Ya Kun brand that they decided to spend their most important day in one. Literally.
In a 38-second clip that has since gone viral on TikTok, a wedding could be seen taking place at Ya Kun’s 18 China St outlet.
Titled “POV: your bestie got married in Ya Kun”, the video kicks off with a familiar display of the Ya Kun outlet’s wooden doors.
Once inside, however, we see a pool of tables with neat white cloths and an array of pleasing flowers.
We then see the golden couple walk out to applause, and witness as they put on the rings in front of the Ya Kun sign.
Elated guests then tucked into heaps and heaps of toasts, with many “Set As” and “Set Bs” coming to the tables.
Though the fare’s not exactly medium rare beef tenderloin or singular scallops with brown sauce, guests were just as, if not more, pleased with the wedding menu.

And They Won The Internet
Posted just two days ago, the video has already garnered over 181K views, with a whopping 9000 likes and 105 comments.
Netizens were also full of nothing but praise for the concept.
One, for instance, commented how it was utter perfection.
Another remarked how they had actually passed by the ceremony and were touched by the event.
One even said that they may change their wedding concept to this instead.
And one wants to get married again just to experience this.
Weddings
So by now, I’m sure we’ve seen loads of weddings at relatively “unconventional places”.
On 19 July 2023, for instance, a couple got wedded at the West Coast McDonald’s outlet.
They exchanged vows in front of 55 people and were surrounded by burgers, fries and everything nice.
And recently, in August this year, another couple tied the knot in a coffee shop.
Bukit Merah Coffee Shop, to be precise.
The groom and bride could be seen attending to guests amidst twinkling fairy lights, kopitiam fare and many beer bottles.
But perhaps the most unconventional one of them all occurred back in 2022.
Believe it or not, a couple decided to get married at Nirvana Memorial Garden…
A columbarium located in Choa Chu Kang.
Surprisingly, the columbarium does have a few photogenic spots, though, as this particular picture would attest to.
