I know what you’re thinking: Going to the zoo? As a Singaporean? Hey, I’ve been attached for so long, my bae and I now have our dates in supermarkets instead. You asking me as a Singaporean to go to the Singapore Zoo is akin to you asking me to serve NS for two years again: no way, my damn Goody Feed friends.

Now, hold your horses. Firstly, you really need to ignite the spark in your relationship again if all your dates are in supermarkets nowadays. Secondly, the Singapore Zoo isn’t only for tourists (despite the price).

At least, not now because dragons, unicorns, griffins and many other mythical beasts have landed in the Singapore Zoo.

No, you’ve not read it wrong: dragons have indeed gone through Woodlands Checkpoint and Grabbed to the Singapore Zoo.

Though we’re 95% certain they’re not real dragons (according to Wildlife Reserves Singapore website, they could be real or just a figment of imagination).

Here are what you can expect.

Dragons & Other Cute Fierce Creatures

(Every day until 31 December)

Other than monkeys, lions, tigers, my goofy colleagues and your best friends, there would be “towering dragons, unicorns, griffins and many other mythical beasts inspired by animals and cultures around the world” in the zoo from 17 November to 31 December.

And from the look of it, these creatures move.

Rumours have it that at night, they’ll leave the zoo and greet kids in HDBs. Not sure how true that is, but if you’re not a kid, or you don’t want to leave it to luck, just visit them in the zoo lah.

Heard that they understood Singlish, too.

But wait—you prefer something from Games of Thrones? Well, Jon Snow isn’t coming but the party’s still on.

Game of Thrones Ice Dragon

(Every day until 31 December)

Like Games of Thrones? This is when you can get up and close with an ice dragon from the popular drama. Given Singapore’s weather, I’m pretty sure it’s not made of ice, so you can safely makan your ice-kacang in front of it. Just be careful of Night King and his BFFs.

Not sure if it’ll shoot blasts of ice out from its mouth, but if it does, it’ll be a good respite from the hot weather.

Games of Thrones Night King

(17, 18, 24 and 25 November)

The supreme leader of the Army of the Death has also taken a flight (I heard it was a discounted flight) down to the Singapore Zoo, because without him, the Ice Dragon would be long dead.

However, it seems like he also agrees that Singapore is damn expensive, because  he’ll appear in the zoo for mere four days (i.e. during the weekends).

Like what a wise man said, “It’s not every day that you get to take a selfie with the Night King.”

Yah, only during weekends.

 Dragons and Unicorn Craft

(Every weekend + 25 Dec until 31 Dec)

This is cute; I’ve no idea what you’ll achieve from here, but if an unicorn can look like a pig, it’s worth a visit.

There are more…

Other than the above-mentioned attractions, there are more, like a date with creatures that inspired dragons…

…a so-called real dragon that you can’t find in your HDB room…

…and games that don’t have thrones but have mythical beasts.

But this isn’t the best, because this visit to another world isn’t going to break your bank.

And since no one in his or her sane mind would confront Night King alone, I guess it essentially means that tickets are now cheaper for all of you.

You can book your tickets here.

Oh, by the way, do you know that you can get a chance to receive a dragon or unicorn pin…

…or a Games of Thrones pin?

In the meantime, I need to prepare my swords. The battle with Night King isn’t going to be pretty.
