Do you know what Robert Downey Junior, Jennifer Lawrence, Sandra Bullock, Will Smith, George Clooney and soon, Singaporean actor, Ng Chin Han has in common? Yes, they’re managed by one of the largest talent agency in the world, Creative Artists Agency (CAA)!
Taking pride in his work, the 46-year-old Singaporean born actor, Chin Han has appeared and starred in many blockbuster films that you may have watched before. Some include Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Dark Knight and a recurring role in Arrow.
Surprised? You may be even more wowed when you realise that he has worked with Liam Hemsworth and Angelababy before!
In the current sequel of Independence Day: Resurgence that is currently screening in cinemas right now, Chin Han is starring as the supervisor of Liam Hemsworth’s US pilot Jake Morrison.
During an interview with Channel News Asia, Chin Han said that he’s thrilled to be working with the talent agency as they have a great history in representing really great talents that we have seen in films today.
He also mentioned that he will be working with them in Hollywood and China where his team will be split between the Los Angeles and Beijing office.
Growing up in Singapore, he started his acting career in this tiny country taking part in shows like the mid-90s Masters Of The Sea drama series. He was also seen in the 2013 Australian-Singapore drama, Serangoon Road.
In 2007, Chin Han moved to Los Angeles and called that his home ever since he scored a role in The Dark Knight.
Though an unspoken but controversial topic, it has been known that in the past, Asians were the minority and had little chance in scoring roles.
However, in recent years, he said that he can feel conversations from discussions being able to bring more Asian-American and Asian actors closer together.
He mentioned that he is contented with the opportunities that he had in his career and did not feel that Asians are underrepresented in television.
Having the chance to work with a lot of great directors, he said that he’s happy enough to work in smaller films or supporting roles as long as he gets to work with the directors that he prefer.
Feeling blessed, he had learnt a lot while working with renowned actors including Morgan Freeman, Heath Ledger and Christian Bale. Though they are incredibly talented with years of experience, one thing that he took note of was that you absolutely have to put in effort and time into your scripts.
According to his nieces, though, Liam Hemsworth is what gets them excited as he starred in The Hunger Games, which garnered many teenage fans all around the world.
To go along with their excitement, Chin Han would post pictures of himself and his fellow stars, including Liam Hemsworth from time to time.
Starring in his next project alongside Scarlett Johansson is the film adaptation of the Japanese manga, Ghost in the Shell, which is said to be out in 2017. We’re proud of you, Ng Chin Han!
