Here’s my take: I’ll not wait more than ten minutes for a meal. If so, I’ll just go for another stall.
Oh well, not for this man in North Bridge Road Food Centre. He was so frustrated, he decided to take his anger to the next level: smashing the stall.
According to The Straits Times, the 54-year-old man was buying a takeaway meal from a wanton mee stall, operated by 64-year-old Ms Ye. After waiting for thirty minutes, the customer started to get impatient and confronted the stallholder.

He allegedly rushed the stallholder twice as he was hungry, saying this, “Do you want to give me my wonton mee? If not I will show you!”
And when the stallholder told him that there were two more customers ahead of him, he lost it and smashed the glass display at the front of the stall with a beer bottle.
According to Ms Ye, the man smelled of alcohol. She called the police immediately and followed him when he left. Her neighbour, a soya bean stallholder, followed them and was punched by the man when she tried to mediate.
The man was arrested a few blocks away from the block.
It’s really tough being a hawker nowadays, no?
