Singaporeans love their salted egg yolk dishes and over the last few years, this tantalising flavour has been making its rounds in our local food scene, from the classic salted egg yolk prawns to the questionable salted egg burger.

With various food in the fray, there is one that still well-loved by local foodies—salted egg yolk chips.

With many companies producing the salty snack, home-grown company Irvins Salted Egg has to be one of the popular ones, in my opinion.

Specialising in salted egg snacks, they have two products—their Salted Egg Fish Skin and Salted Egg Potato Chips.

For the uninitiated, I implore you to try the former.

You can get them online or at their brick and mortar stores—VivoCity, Raffles Xchange, Plaza Singapura and Orchard Gateway.

Located in areas that are popular amongst tourists, Hongkies have found a liking to it.

So, Irvins Salted Egg has opened its first outpost outside of Southeast Asia, in Hong Kong on 27 Feb.

Jeslin Low, head of the Hong Kong branch, mentioned in a statement that the store aims to “meet the expected huge demand in Hong Kong.”

The store will be located in Harbour City in Tsim Sha Tsui.

According to their FB post: nothing will change as you’ll meet and be served by their very own IRVINS Salted Egg Team and they are building the Hong Kong team from the “ground up”.

Hopefully, this is just the beginning for them before they take over the world with their addictive snacks!
