School in India Has the Same Logo as S’pore Sports School but the School is ‘Closed’

It appears that Singapore has, once again, found itself in a dubious situation.

So if you recall, there was a song that went viral a while back… for all the wrong reasons.

Suspiciously named ‘Count on me India’, it reminds us of our own National Day Song.

Suffice to say; Netizens weren’t happy. As you would have predicted, the situation escalated.

Indeed, it wasn’t until a firm statement by our nation that they finally caved in.

You can read all about that here.

Yet, just when we thought “Hey, it’s finally over“…

Another dubious instance comes in to disrupt things.

School in India Have the Same Logo as S’pore Sports School but the School is Closed

According to Mothershipanother suspicious similarity has been unveiled between India and Singapore, and this time the victim’s none other than…

Our very own Singapore Sports School (SSS).

For reference purposes, the logo of SSS looks like this:

While the logo of Gaikwad Patil International School (GPIS), a school in India’s state of Maharastra, looks like this:

Not sure about you, but they do kinda look similar… right?

Well, it seems that SSS has too, taken notice of the strange phenomenon. Apparently, they have already contacted the principal of GPIS about the matter.

For the record, SSS’ logo was reportedly designed by commercial brand consultancy Ukulele back in 2003.

The trademark was officially registered on Sep. 16, 2003.

In response, the principal of SSS mentioned that she has since left the job, but added that the school is “shut now”. With that in mind, she stated that the similarity issue “does not need any further discussion.”

According to MothershipSSS took the principal’s comments to mean that GPIS is no longer open.

They then inquired on whether the website will be taken down, and whether the principal could refer them to the owner of the school.

There was, however, no further response.

The website in question did, though, become inaccessible.

It should be noted that the principal appears to have assumed a new position at Delhi Public International School (DPIS), a school that is curiously located at the same site as GPIS.
