The incident, which occurred on 18 November 2024, was captured on CCTV and reported by the shop owner, Mr He, to the authorities.

The theft took place outside Little Pets Kingdom at Block 930, Yishun Central 1.

CCTV footage revealed the crime unfolding early in the morning at about 6:30 AM. The video shows the teenagers initially trying their luck at the claw machine but failing to secure any prizes.

Undeterred, two of the teens are seen gripping the machine from both sides and tipping it over, while a third lifted it slightly.

At one point, they nearly laid the machine flat on the ground before setting it upright again.

One of the teenagers then reached into the prize slot to extract five Labubu dolls from the machine’s total of 11.

By the time Mr He arrived at his store at 9:30 AM, he noticed that the machine’s wires had been dislodged. Upon checking the claw machine, he confirmed that the dolls were missing.

Mr He had stocked the claw machine with Labubu dolls ten days before the incident, drawing twice the usual number of players.

Despite the theft, he intends to keep the remaining dolls in the machine.

The police are currently investigating the incident.

What the Labubu?

This is not the first case involving Labubu dolls. In October, another group was caught stealing $100 worth of these toys from a claw machine in Sim Lim Square.

Earlier this month, Plaza Singapura filed a police report regarding a fake Facebook page promoting counterfeit Labubu dolls.
