With the emergence of COVID-19, the financial situation over here in Singapore has, for lack of a better phrase, taken a real turn for the worse.
And that’s especially so for the working demographic of the nation, with some facing the prospect of what I call ‘job obliteration’ in the face of the outbreak.
Thankfully, the government has issued much-needed financial support in the form of grants and payments to the masses, as the country and planet grapple with the ever-increasing threat.
But to that end, it’s still not enough, and with the virus expected to reign supreme for a few more months at the very least it would be foolhardy to contend with what one has.
And that’s perhaps why people have to shake things up in this climate, even Singaporean superstars like Steven Lim and Kurt Tay.
Yes folks, lest you haven’t been paying attention…
The twin duo of all local hopes and dreams have signed up with Takagi Ramen for an exclusive Ramen-Delivery deal.
Steven Lim & Kurt Tay Now Delivering Ramen for TRS
It’s admittedly hard to believe it at first glance.
Internet celebrities like Steven Lim and Kurt Tay, delivering ramen for the masses?
Admittedly, the appointment of Steven Lim as Ramen Deliveryman hasn’t exactly been kept under wraps. In fact, one just needs to look up his Facebook page to see multiple posts on the subject, with the latest one being as recent as three hours ago.
Well, it looks like Steven Lim’s content with his part-time job, at the very least.
But the appointment of Kurt Tay as Ramen ‘Ambassador’ for the brand? Now that’s a surprise.
And yet, unbelievable as it might sound, it certainly seems to be true. And really, what better way to verify the notion than a good ol’ Facebook video by the Ramen place itself?
In the 2:28 clip, we first see Steven Lim on one of his ramen delivery rounds, before a new challenger appears:
Kurt Tay.
Armed with his trademark WWE Championship belt, a pair of slick-esque shades and a bright smile, Kurt Tay can be seen striding into the restaurant where he proceeds to sit like a boss and contend with a…
Job interview.
Henceforth, we see the undisputed People’s Champion rolling multiple accolades and resume-worthy credits off the tip of his tongue, and surprise surprise;
He got the job.
But if you thought that was the end, well, you’re in for yet another surprise.
After the whole ‘job interview’ segment’s completed, we see the video teetering in the direction of an anti-Covid commercial, with Kurt Tay serving as a prime example of what not to do during the current crisis.
Gotta say though;Â it was quite an informational take.

Nearing the end of the video, Kurt Tay can be seen heading out of the restaurant with delivery orders in tow and a face mask in place. Singaporean superstar Kurt Tay, now Takagi Ramen deliveryman.

Netizens React
Fresh off such an incredible revelation, Netizens felt fit to turn up to the comments section in droves, where they then expressed their indelible support of the pair’s dedication.
Though of course, there’ll always be that one person who tries to undermine their efforts.
But of course, I’m sure that was simply done in jest.
And with that said, let’s give it up for the twin duos of all local hopes and dreams, Steven Lim and Kurt Tay.
If they’re willing to shake things up despite their reputations, I’m sure we can too!
