Stirr Discovered the Mall with the Fastest Wi-Fi in Orchard, Alongside Some Unexpected Results

Humans can go without food for 7 days.

Humans can go without water for 3 days.

But there’s one thing humans can’t go without, even for one day.

Wi-Fi.

As such, many of us have made it our life’s goal to explore the many technicalities and intricacies of the mysterious entity known only as Wai Fai.

And Stirr, it seems, is no different.

They recently tested out the Wi-Fi connectivity in various Orchard Malls, and let’s just say that the results might not be what you’re expecting.

How’s the test conducted?

The Stirr team heads down to every mall in the vicinity, attempts to download a 46MB file using the local Wi-Fi and records down the time taken.

No nonsense; no fanciful tricks. Just guts, glory and Wi-Fi.

Without further ado, here are the results:

Pretty fast. As expected of Ion Orchard.

Whoa look guys. Who would have expected Ngee Ann City to slaughter Ion? That’s a victory nobody saw coming!

8:29? What’s this, an IPPT 2.4km run?

Kind of disappointing, Paragon. Seeing how you’re the atas one out of the family, we had high hopes for you.

Not bad, not bad. 4 times faster than someone, at least.

You know that guy who falls out during his IPPT 2.4km run because of reasons?

Yeah, Cathay Cineleisure Orchard is that guy.

Name’s probably Wai Fai too.

You know that guy who always runs crazily fast during IPPT? The guy who just keeps running and running and could just run all the way to Afghanistan if nobody stopped him?

Yeah, this is that guy.

Show-off.

(Hey, Mum. Wanna head over to Mandarin Gallery sometime? I heard their Wi-Fi’s quite fast. Can download all the illegal movies eh!)

Not bad, Plaza Sing. Could be better, but not bad.

Anyways, we have reached the end of the list, and as a recap let’s go through a painstakingly made template that wasn’t prepared by us.

Well, well, would you check that out? Our front 2 picks ended up bottom of the table, while the two nobody expected to win, won.

Guess that’s why my mum always taught me not to judge a book by its cover, eh?

On a side note, guess who’s heading down to Mandarin Gallery today?

😉
