Woman Stole Neighbour’s Package that Contained $200 Shoes from Their Front Door

You pass by a parcel left at someone’s front door. What do you do?

Leave it there, duh.

How about taking it and going on your merry way?

Why would you do that? You don’t even know what’s inside. What if it’s drugs? Now the Central Narcotics Bureau wants to talk to you.

Well, this woman did.

Woman Stole Neighbour’s Delivered Shoes

On 5 May at around 12pm, someone driving along Luxus Hills Drive in Seletar did exactly just that, as Shin Min Daily News reports.

According to closed-circuit television footage, the woman in question alighted from a silver sedan, pulled a trolley out of the car, and walked towards the closed gate of a landed property close by.

Apparently, there was a brown package left on the door. She pushed it down with the trolley and caught it, briskly walking back to her car and driving away.

Fortunately for her, the package did not contain drugs. Rather, there was a pair of S$200 shoes that probably weren’t even her size. Or style.

The owner of the property revealed to STOMP that the stolen package was left at the door because nobody was at home, and that he did not expect it to be stolen.

Well, obviously. Why would someone steal a package without knowing what it contains? What if it’s drugs? But oh well, we’ve been through this.

The owner soon informed the police, commenting that it was his first time encountering anything like this, and that he was unfamiliar with the package-claiming woman.

Investigations are ongoing.

Anyone Else Stolen a Package?

Not many, but no fools are ever alone.

Back in 2018, an UberEats rider (yes, that used to be a thing) was caught stealing a resident’s parcel at a condominium along Dunearn Road

The resident in question received a call from a courier at 6pm that the package had been delivered, but saw nothing at her door when she returned later that night.

A review of the CCTV footage showed that the rider looked at the CCTV camera before turning away, picking up a package and quickly leaving the scene.

Congratulations, you just left the police with a full view of your face before committing a crime.

The delivery person was quickly identified with the help of the neighbour, who engaged UberEats services, and the police were promptly contacted.
