It is one thing to make a mistake and apologise for it yourself, but it is another thing to commit a crime and have your parents beg for forgiveness on behalf of your childishness.
Despite how ridiculous this sounds, this actually happened in Taiwan recently.
Parents Kneel to Beg for Forgiveness After Son Hit Teen for Bumping into His Maserati
Song, a college student, fell into a coma after he was assaulted by the driver of a Maserati car, Lee Weu-lin and his friends. The car was worth about S$440,000 and it belongs to Lee’s mother.
After realising the son have assaulted someone else for a “scratch” in her car, Lee’s parents went to Taichung Veterans General Hospital to beg for forgiveness.
Since the hospital was restricting visitations and Song’s mother refused to meet Lee’s parents, they kneeled in front of the cameras to plead for forgiveness.
Lee’s mother was “extremely upset that [this happened],” while his father explained that his son was drunk and the law would punish him accordingly.
Lee’s father, who is the owner of a food company in Changhua County, said they will take care of all of Song’s expenses.
Road Rage Gone Wrong
At around midnight of 7 Nov, Song had a minor collision with a Maserati during a lane change. Nobody was injured during the collision except maybe the Maserati’s paint job.
However, Lee was not having it. He gathered his passengers and assaulted Song, sending him into a coma.
Video footage even showed that one of the perpetrators was wielding a baseball bat. Threats also could be heard throughout the assault.
After some time, Lee even got more people to help beat up Song. While Song was hit, his friend witnessed the whole thing but was unable to do anything to stop the assault.
The police only arrived after a passer-by called for help. Song was transported to the hospital where he was rushed to the intensive care unit. He suffered a skull fracture, brain swelling and a large blood clot from the violent attack.
Although Song’s vital signs are stable, the next few days will determine Song’s survival rate.
Song is currently being at Taichung Veterans General Hospital. Although he was not able to speak, he was able to nod when his name was called.
Lee and his friends were arrested and detained on the suspicion of committing homicide, interference with public order, causing injury and making threats.
