If you’ve always thought there’s only one way to sleep and earn money – becoming a bed tester – think again.

Because one influencer in Taiwan has found her calling in life.

Sleep streaming.

Influencer Earned Almost $100 Livestreaming Herself Sleeping

On 24 Feb 2021, an influencer in Taiwan got the shock of her life when she fell asleep with her camera on.

When she woke up, she realised that as many as 11,000 Twitch users were watching her snooze away.

Her previous earnings on Twitch were blown out of the water too, and she made around NT$2,000 (S$95) within a single night.

Puzzled, all she could ask was whether this was “reasonable” or not.

Can Everyone Do It?

Now, before you grab your smartphone and a stand to live stream yourself sleeping, here are some additional facts you might want to know about.

The Taiwan influencer in question goes by the name ET on her channel.

She is also a former member of the Malaysian girl group, AMOi-AMOi.

AMOi-AMOi is a girl group founded by Red People, a Malaysian online supergroup founded by Namewee, an iconic (and controversial) rapper-songwriter in Malaysia.

As for why we’re dropping his name, it’s because Namewee, other than his musical talent, often works with people who looks good.

So, yes, we’re going to guess the answer to the question is no, not everyone can do it.

There’s a reason why it’s called beauty sleep, yes?

Not Surprising, Though

But will we be surprised if the concept of watching people sleep takes off? Not really.

After all, if videos of someone eating tons of food, or spending long hours studying at the library or at a table, can take off, why can’t sleeping videos do it?

On a separate note, if you’re someone who watches people sleeping on Twitch or other platforms, make sure to clear your video history from time to time.

After all, it can be pretty hard trying to explain why you’re watching beautiful girls (or handsome guys) snooze their night away, no?

As for those of us who aren’t as blessed in the looks department, I guess we can always apply to be a bed tester, no?
