Preetipls might want to take note of this.

Yesterday was Halloween and just like any 31 October, humans turned into ghosts for one night.

Some people turned into bubble tea, and that’s all good.

Taiwanese singer and actor Jam Hsiao, whose English name must have been uttered by many Singapore drivers before (“walao, jam till siao!), joined in the fun too, because why not?

The seasoned singer, who debuted in 2007 after appearing in One Million Star (超级星光大道), has nine albums under his belt and have been in numerous films and TV dramas.

Needless to say, he’s friends with other superstars like Jay Chou, A-Mei and BuffLord95, and has a whopping one million followers in his Instagram account.

So, Jam beat the jam and went to a Halloween party with Jay Chou and friends.

Jay was Woody from Toy Story, and his wife was Bo Peep.

Here, take a look at this image because even celebrities love taking photos:

Notice what’s wrong?

You should have because you’ve come into this article through the headline.

Jam Hsiao is Will Smith

Jam posted this image, and no one’d have known that he’s Will Smith until he tagged Will Smith himself and also NBA, adding this caption: “It feels like I’ve gotten better at basketball!”

With his arsenal of weaponry, he’s most probably dressing up as Will Smith in his latest movie, Gemini Man.

Oh wells, nothing happened for a while.

Until all of a sudden…something happened.

Preetipls did a vid—

Suddenly, All Images of BlackFace Were Deleted

You see, over in China and Taiwan, it turns out that there were no hoo-ha. They even praised Jam’s cosplay, claiming that it was “innovative”.

But somehow, I think this conversion might have occurred:

Jay: Eh, Jam, you know in Singapore, got one guy paint his skin and kena criticised like siao?

Jam: Serious? Siao liao I post on IG liao leh

Jay: I also leh

Jam: Let’s delete them lah, IG algorithm so f***-up, no one would’ve seen them

Jay: You so smart

Don’t ask me why they know Singlish, but anyways.

All images with Jam were deleted soon after.

And it wasn’t because it has become viral; it was done so quietly, it’s now become news here in Singapore.

So, moral of the story?

Play it safe next year. Just be a ghost.
