The People’s Alliance for Reform (PAR) has confirmed that online personality Turritopsis Dohrnii Teo En Ming is not a candidate for the upcoming General Election 2025, despite his recent appearances with the party.

Michael Fang, PAR’s candidate for Yio Chu Kang SMC, told Mothership that Teo is a resident supporter of PAR in Yio Chu Kang and “not a GE candidate in PAR in any sense”.

In a separate Facebook post, PAR clarified that Teo is one of several resident volunteers helping with their GE 2025 campaign.

The party also mentioned that Teo is currently unemployed, and they are working to help him find employment.

This clarification came after Teo appeared in a TikTok video alongside Fang on 16 April 2025. In the footage, both men wore the party’s maroon shirts and displayed PAR badges, with Teo also sporting a People’s Voice logo.

PAR Explains Role of Non-Member Supporters in Election Campaign

Teo’s involvement with PAR wasn’t limited to a single appearance.

He previously joined Fang and other PAR members for a walkabout on 14 Apr 2025 and had meetings with party members in early April.

In response to the speculation, PAR issued a statement on the evening of 17 Apr 2025 explaining that resident supporters like Teo had requested to wear PAR shirts to “help boost our presence” in the area.

The party emphasised that such volunteers are “here helping out for the GE 2025 and are non-members”.

Fang, who is being fielded in Yio Chu Kang SMC, reiterated that Teo has no official candidacy status with the party as Singapore approaches its general election.
