The Internet sure is full of trolls. Facebook user Peter Charles posted pictures of this new bus and captioned it as “New bus in Singapore. Going to launch out soon…” So everyone thought it was true. The Facebook post has been circulating around and generating a lot of talk among the public. After all, it was just a while ago that LTA asked us to vote on SBS red and green buses.
Well, Peter Charles’ post technically is a little bit true.
New bus in Singapore. Going to launch out soon…

This bus was a creation of new bus company Go-Ahead who has taken over the Loyang Depot and will operate buses in the East.
Truthfully, I’ll be really weirded out if this bus starts operating in Singapore, because honestly, our buses look way better. Our SBS buses really look nice they way it does now, not the red or green ones though but the usual ones we see driving around.
Of course many people thought that Singapore would start having these weird buses around Singapore. Well, like I said, the Internet is full of trolls.
This red bus is actually the new bus for London, which is the origin of the Go-Ahead Group. This red bus is located in the Loyang Depot for display purposes only and will not be driving around Singapore. Well, not unless Singaporeans want it to. But seriously, can we just stick to our current buses?
Go-Ahead Group has a five-year contract with Singapore to operate its buses. It will have 25 different bus routes around Pasir Ris, Tampines and Bedok starting from the later part of 2016. We’re not sure how the buses will look like, but I guess those green and red buses look better. Like a writer from Mothership.sg said, the bus looks like it’s wearing an asymmetrical dress. Truth in that statement, really.
