When it comes to the greatest Channel 8 theme song in history so far, what song comes to your mind?
I don’t even need to be a mind-reader to know your answer. It has to be 双天至尊’s 沉默的羔羊.

Sang by 赵传, you can apparently find this song in KTV, though the MV might turn you off (get it?).
Another, the less popular one, is the theme song from 双天至尊2, 当爱擦身而过, sang by the then queen of gambling Zoe Tay, and a popular Taiwanese singer, 李宗盛.
Here’s the MV, lest it doesn’t leave that much of an impression to you.
The first 双天至尊 was aired in 1993 (are you even born yet?) and the second in 1996. Just think about it: over twenty years later, there’re still uncles like me who think that they’re the best songs ever.
So it’s pretty surprising that the remake is only done recently.
And boy, were they good. Just take a listen first. Do take note that they sang the second theme song first (why, why, why!?).
Sang by Singaporean singers Alfred Sim and Tay Kewei, who are also a married couple, it’s a completely different take on the 90s songs.
I’m no music expert, but I kind of like this version better. Maybe because when I first heard the songs, I was a kid who thought that I could win a casino with $10.

And if you’ve no idea what you’ve read so far, you can rewatch the old 双天至尊 in Toggle. Oh yeah, we really threw cards and broke dices in the 90s #goodolddays
