Nothing beats the distinctive smell of maggie noodles stir-fried with sauces and completed with a hint of lime.

Nothing.

Bufflord95: Isn’t that what you say about Old Chang Kee’s Nasi Lemak puff?

Okay, almost nothing.

But what if I were to tell you that there’s a shop at Kembangan that sells not just Maggi goreng, but it’s upgraded with lobster, and it’s halal.

Now, before you think I’m pulling it out of my ass like a certain hospital is pulling out six-pack abs, think again.

Because such a store exists.

And it exists in Singapore.

Jom Makan BBQ Seafood

People say you can tell a lot about a place by its name.

And this seafood stall isn’t any different.

In case you don’t understand Malay, here’s a “translated” version of their name: Come Eat BBQ Seafood.

And judging by their Maggi Goreng, that’s a name well-deserved.

  • Boston Lobster Maggi Goreng: $23
  • Scallop, Lala Maggi Goreng: $15

But Boon, you say, over $10 for a plate of Maggi goreng is a bit expensive, isn’t it?

Well, that’s why I didn’t say cheap. It’s affordable because for the stuff that goes into the Maggi goreng? The price’s pretty worth it.

In other words, good for foodie adventures and special occasions, but it’s not something you can eat every day.

White Bee Hoon Special

Now, if you’re not a fan of Maggi Goreng (why?! Just why?!), don’t worry because the goodness above? They’re just a small part of the equation.

Jom also has White Bee Hoon options available for customers.

You can customise the platter with a range of seafood including crab, crayfish, squid, clams, prawn, lobster and scallops.

They’ll cook the seafood before bringing it out on a metal shovel. Don’t worry, it looks like a clean shovel in the video.
