If you take the DTL 3 regularly, do you actually explored the areas, such as Kaki Bukit, Mattar or Fort Canning?
For me, the DTL is a saviour, cutting my travel time by an hour. Every time I tap in or tap out at Beauty World, I would always walk past the eateries and the iconic Beauty World Centre sign in blue, telling myself I would explore the vicinity on a Friday night or over the weekend (which hasn’t happened yet).
Ever since Lepark closed down, rooftop shenanigans have been on the down-low but I reckon that will soon change.
To awaken your inner Dora the Explorer, did you know that one of the stations on the DTL is home to a rooftop hub that houses a futsal arena, bar, karaoke and more?
Perched on the rooftop of Sime Darby Centre—literally five minutes away from King Albert Park Station—SkyPark Arena boasts a bird’s eye view of Bukit Timah Nature Reserve and the CBD.
It is filled with so many amenities, you might actually have to do a weekend staycation over there to get the full experience.
Let me break it down for you!
SkyPark Arena
It is a futsal pitch that is pretty much atas. Its goal netting is the exact model used in FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014 and the goal posts are the exact models used in the Singapore National Stadium.
There are LED floodlights for night matches.
The field is very versatile as you can play with a team of 5 or 6.
It can also be used for other activities like laser tag, dodgeball, cricket, movie screenings, picnics and much more.
You can also freshen up as they shower facilities.
Why skypool when you can skyfutsal, right?
SkyBar
If you’re not one to break a sweat, then you should check out their SkyBar.
It has a viewing gallery where you can see all the action happening on the field while you sip on your juice.
There is a Karaoke console where you can bring out your to bring out your inner Jay Chou or Mariah Carey.
If you’re a gamer, then get your hands dirty with their PS4 Pro and Nintendo Switch, where you can play games like FIFA 2017, Street Fighter, Mario and Legend of Zelda.
If you’re too cool for video games, then maybe a game of foosball or pool or electronic darts?
As you can tell, their rates are pretty reasonable.
After all the physical fun, refuel your soul and body with their western delights like burgers, fish and chips and nuggets.
If you’re feeling adventurous, maybe you can try the deadly Spicy Korean Ramen…
And all their food is halal-certified! 😊
Who knew there was a such a thing at King Albert Park?
