For as long as toilet seats were invented, males and females have always argued over whether the other should leave the toilet seat up or down.
That issue has fortunately been resolved by science in a study that concluded that the toilet seat should be put back down once you’re done due to efficiency’s sake, and to prevent your female counterpart from suffering from “wet bottom syndrome”.
However, whether or not to flush the toilet after you use it… well, that’s not exactly an issue that’s up for debate…or is it?
Getting An Earful for Not Flushing the Toilet; Escalated into a Fight
On 27 November 2020, at around 1:35pm, the 48-year-old son, who was living in his parents’ apartment unit, was scolded by his 77-year-old father for not flushing after using the toilet.
I mean, come on lah! The gomen did ask us to save water, but it hasn’t gotten to the point where we don’t flush the toilet every time we use it, has it?
Anyway, this exploded into a full-blown argument where, in a fit of rage, the son purportedly took out several S$5 and S$10-dollar notes and threw them at his father.
He then raised his fists, and attempt to hit his father with them.
Despite being 77 years old and likely being physically frail, his father wasn’t going to take all this flak from his son sitting down.
In anger, he swung a metal chain that, for some reason, has a heavy lock at the end of it like a flail at his son, hitting the son’s left arm, injuring him.
The mother saw the incident and quickly called the cops, knowing that the situation was way out of hand and that someone should definitely intervene.
Breaking away from the stand-off with his father, the 48-year-old suddenly ran towards the kitchen to grab a 30-cm-long kitchen knife.
He then pointed the knife at his father, who was in the living room at this time, waving the knife in front of him defensively, for about three minutes.
Thankfully, the police arrived at the scene and quickly apprehended the knife-wielding man.
During the examination, the doctor also reported a 1-cm-long wound on the son’s left elbow, while the father is unscathed.
As a result of threatening his father with a knife, the son was sentenced to three months in jail. The judge also gave him a S$1,500 fine.
At this time, we’re not sure if the father will be charged as well for injuring his son.
