In case your phone’s been spoilt or something and you haven’t already heard the news as brought to you by my lovely colleague, the King of Mandopop is coming back to grace our shores early next year.

Yes, Jay Chou will be back again for his All-New Jay Chou Concert World Tour (creative name). What a great way to start off the new decade!

You might wanna go to your calendar right now and mark down these three dates – 10 January 2020, 11 January 2020, and especially 28 May 2019.

What’s this random date in May for when the concert only happens next year?

Fastest Fingers First

Before any concert actually happens, there’s still a great big hurdle you have to go through if you want to witness the glorious spectacle live – the war we call ticketing.

And as for this round’s war to get to see the King, it’s finally been announced that it commences on 28 May 2019, 8 whole whopping months before the concert happens.

Talk about being kiasu.

There’s a condition, however – it’s a presale for StarHub users and OCBC cardholders only.

So if you don’t fall under any of these groups, you can just cry while waiting for the general sale to start on a later date, which has yet to be announced.

Or you can just sign up with either of them. That or look for friends who are Starhub or OCBC members.

Special StarHub and OCBC Presale

The special presale will begin on 28 May 2019 at 10 am to 29 May 2019 at 11:59 pm, available online and at other offline locations – more details here.

For StarHub users, you can just show your StarHub bill or subscription on your mobile or tablet device. If you’re an OCBC cardholder, you’ll have to enter the first 6 digits of your OCBC credit or debit card.

You can grab tickets ranging from S$368, S$328, S$318, S$308, S$288, S$248, S$208 all the way to S$198.

There’s still a booking fee at $4.

Although that might kind of burn a hole in your wallet, it’s worth it when you finally get to hear the songs of your youth getting crooned into your ears directly, right? Sacrifices must be made for love.

Get Ready

Jay Chou’s a hit amongst Singaporeans of all ages, so if your mother asks you for tickets to go see him, then you better ting ma ma de hua and get some. Sorry, I just had to.

The tickets are bound to get sold out within minutes, based off Jay Chou’s previous gigs here in Singapore, so you’d better prepare well for this and get everything you need ready in advance – be it your credit card, StarHub bill, wifi, or tears of frustration.

And in case you’re unable to secure any tickets, be careful not to anyhow buy off Carousell and get scammed.

Good luck!
