Travellers using the MyICA mobile app to submit their SG Arrival Card should update the app to its latest version before making submissions from 30 September 2026, according to the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA).
The enhanced version of the SG Arrival Card is already available through ICA’s website. From 30 September, the upgraded features will also be rolled out on the MyICA app.
ICA announced the app rollout on 16 September.
App Users Should Update MyICA Before 30 September
Travellers who plan to use MyICA for their SG Arrival Card submissions from 30 September onwards should first make sure they have the latest version of the app.
This also applies to travellers who use MyICA to generate QR codes for immigration clearance at Singapore’s land checkpoints, ICA said.
The SG Arrival Card can still be submitted through ICA’s official online e-service, so the change does not mean travellers are suddenly required to use the mobile app.
Submission through ICA’s official platforms is free.
Upgraded Arrival Card Has 19 Languages
One of the most noticeable changes is the number of languages available.
The enhanced SG Arrival Card supports 19 languages, up from 12 previously.
The seven additions are Bahasa Indonesia, Dutch, Arabic, Spanish, Russian, Filipino and Italian.
The existing languages include English, Chinese, Malay, Tamil, Vietnamese, Hindi, Bengali, German, French, Japanese, Korean and Thai.
ICA previously said the languages were selected based on those commonly spoken by travellers visiting Singapore.
The redesigned system also simplifies the opening page. Travellers can select what they want to do and indicate their residency status at the start, rather than going through separate steps.
Singapore Residents Can Scan Their Passports Too
The upgrade also expands the passport scanning function.
Previously, passport scan autofill was available to foreign travellers. Singapore citizens, permanent residents and long-term pass holders relied on Singpass to retrieve their information.
Under the enhanced system, Singapore residents can also scan their passports to automatically fill in relevant details, while Singpass retrieval remains available.
The idea is straightforward: fewer particulars to type manually means fewer opportunities to mistype your passport details just before catching a flight home.
Who Still Needs to Submit an SG Arrival Card?
ICA’s existing submission requirements have not changed because of the app upgrade.
Travellers must submit the SG Arrival Card within three days, including the day of arrival, before entering Singapore.
The requirement generally covers foreign visitors as well as Singapore citizens, permanent residents and long-term pass holders.
There are two main exceptions. Travellers who are transiting or transferring through Singapore without going through immigration clearance do not need to submit one.
Singapore citizens, permanent residents and long-term pass holders entering through the Woodlands or Tuas land checkpoints are also exempt.
The SG Arrival Card is not a visa. Foreign visitors who require a Singapore visa must still meet the separate visa requirements.
