Trump Now Said Catching the Coronavirus Was a ‘Blessing from God’ & Promises to Make COVID-19 Medication Free

Leave it to President Donald Trump to turn a potential disaster into something out of a church pastor’s mouth.

Lest you’re unaware, the larger-than-life character had previously tested positive for COVID-19, a notion that sent ripples across the entire world.

Though curiously, people seemed to find it a tad bit hilarious in spite of the virus’ evidently lethal nature.

But now, it seems that the President is back in the Oval Office again, and he has described his experience in the most succinct way possible.

It was, according to him, a “blessing from God”.

Trump Now Said Catching the Coronavirus Was a ‘Blessing from God’ & Promises to Make COVID-19 Medication Free

Yes, you read it right: US President Donald Trump has announced that catching the virus was a “blessing from God”…

…and one that supposedly opened his eyes to the experimental treatments out there.

The declaration was made via a video message, and was unveiled yesterday (7 October).

“I think this was a blessing from God that I caught it. This was a blessing in disguise,” Trump said, adding that the medication from Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc had allowed him to understand first-hand how effective such treatments could be.

He also cited similar-style medication from Eli Lilly and Co, and promised to make such treatment methods free for all Americans.

“I want to get for you what I got. And I’m going to make it free,” Trump said.

Re-election Campaign

Trump was discharged from the hospital after three days of treatment on Monday (5 October), having allegedly not experienced any symptoms in 24 hours.

He has since returned to the Oval Office (on Wednesday) for briefings, though he remains under treatment for Covid-19.

He’s also being treated as a contagious case, with only his chief of staff, Mark Meadows, and social media director, Dan Scavino, allowed to be in the same area. Anyone else in the president’s vicinity is required to adopt full personal protective equipment.

Safety protocols have also been set up to accommodate Trump’s efforts to revitalise his re-election campaign.

The Centres for Disease Control and Prevention advises patients with mild to moderate Covid-19 to quarantine themselves for at least 10 days after their symptoms first turn up.

However, Trump has reportedly been trying to return to the Oval office since Tuesday, notwithstanding the objections of several staff members.

Pathogen

On Friday morning (2 Sep), Trump announced in a tweet that he has tested positive for Covid-19, alongside his wife Melania Trump.

He was admitted to Walter Reed National Military Medical Centre on the same day.

The President’s physician, Navy Commander Dr Sean Conley, said that Trump received confirmation of the positive tests on Thursday evening (Singapore late morning).

In the last few months, while rational Americans were practising social distancing and wearing masks, Trump held large campaign rallies that drew thousands of supporters without implementing any safety measures, such as safe distancing or the mandatory wearing of masks.

Moreover, at a presidential debate on Tuesday (29 Sep), none of Trump’s family members who attended the debate wore a mask, except his wife Melania.

And back in May, Trump said he had no concerns about getting the deadly virus, saying: “I felt no vulnerability whatsoever”.
