Trump Said He Was In Underground Bunker for ‘Inspection’ & It Wasn’t to Protect Him From the Protestors

It’s definitely not the best time to in the US right now.

You might almost be grateful that a travel ban was put in place since the country is quite literally in chaos right now.

Unless you were living under a rock, you know we mean the George Floyd Protests going on right now.

From Riots To Trump

We’ll catch you up real quick, regardless.

George Floyd, a black man, died after a white police officer knelt on his neck for over eight minutes. Protestors took to the street the next day and violence ensued between them and the police.

Naturally, this incident is so big that the President of the United States (POTUS), Donald Trump, stepped in to make a statement through his famous twitter account.

Not all that terrible, right?

In fact, Trump even contacted Floyd’s brother, Philonise Floyd to have a conversation with him. Though the results were…less than fantastic.

Amongst other things, Philonise mentioned that Trump hardly let him speak and all he had wanted was some justice for his brother.

And if you thought the phone call wasn’t the best, the follow-up tweet Trump did in an angry retort was even worse.

Imagine tweeting something like “when the looting starts, the shooting starts” in tandem with calling the protestors “thugs”.

Even twitter had to flag the post for ‘promoting violence’.

The protests got so bad after all this that the secret service rushed the POTUS to an underground bunker originally used for terrorist attacks. He was reportedly in there for around an hour before coming up.

Probably want to get himself away from all that trouble, right?

Which now leads into the present day.

Not For Protection

According to The Straits Times, it seemed Trump did not go into the bunker for protection but instead for ‘inspection’.

Trump said on Wednesday 3 June on Brian Kilmeade’s Fox News Radio show that the former claim was a “false report”.

“I’ve gone down two or three times, all for inspection. And you go there, some day you may need it. But you go there, I went down, I looked at it. It was during the day.”

There may be some truth to this since protesters were not as close to the fence around the White House complex on Saturday and Sunday.

However, another account told Bloomberg News that Trump was moved to a secure area late on Friday as a condition “red” was declared at the White House amid violent protests.

This basically means no one is allowed in or out of the House. There’s more protection inside and staff will minimise the POTUS and his family’s movement.

Tweets and Comments

While the case of inspection might be true, just look up any video on how crazy the protests are right now. Outside the White House or not, it wouldn’t be surprising if a little defence was needed.

At the very least, Trump was certainly ‘safe’ enough to tweet while he was down there.

Even in follow up tweets he asked the Democrats to ‘get tough’ and provoked the likes of Joe Biden.

Almost surprised this tweet wasn’t flagged like the other one.

Trump even told CNBC that “There was never a problem. We never had a problem. Nobody ever came close to giving us a problem.”

But sadly, we can’t get too much information out of this one. A White House spokesperson reported that they were unable to comment on security-related issues.

A secret service spokeswoman also said they were unable to share information about their protectees.

We can only hope something productive was happening during these inspections.

First COVID-19, now we have riots and tweet crazy presidents. I’m not even sure at this point whether aliens want to invade us anymore.
