Amidst funky news like penis fishes and dreary news like the rise in the number of scams in Singapore, it’s nice to finally be able to report wholesome news.
After all, the world could do with a little more kindness and positivity, and this piece of news is a good place to start:
Truthful Petrol Station Staff Returns $12 Change Lorry Driver Left Behind 1 Month Later
Now and then, people forget their things. Some leave their phones behind in the toilet, while others forget their change and leave it on the counter.

What would you do if you saw that happen? Would you keep it for yourself or would you go out of your way to return it to them?
One petrol station staff made sure to do the latter.
A Malaysian lorry driver visited a Shell gas station. Unfortunately, he left his change on the counter way back on 15 November.
The balance was only RM 37.75 (~S$12), but that didn’t stop the staff from keeping it safe in a “tightly sealed packet.”
He even took it upon himself to keep his eyes peeled and observed all the customers that came by, hoping that the lorry driver would make an appearance and he could pass him his change.
True enough, the lorry driver did return to the gas station on 11 December, a month after the previous visit.
The staff then hurriedly called out to him to inform him about his change that he had forgotten last month.
Lorry Driver Thought It Was A Scam
Not a lot of people would do something so kind, so it’s understandable that the lorry driver was cautious at first.

“I didn’t believe him at first, I even thought it was a fraud. It was until the staff went to the counter and pulled out a small packet that contained the aforementioned balance.”
He had assumed all those weeks ago that his change was gone and that the staff would’ve probably kept the balance for himself.
He was proven wrong when the staff showed him the receipt from that transaction.
Indeed, the change was returned to him and not a single cent had gone missing. He has since said he will become a regular customer at the gas station.
