There’s an assumption that Singapore is a safe place to live in and that there are low or no crimes. For the most part, it is indeed true.

But most of us don’t get to see the full picture of what really happens behind the scenes on our little red dot.

Some good examples are the existence of brothels and prostitution rings in Singapore and now.. drug dens?

Two Singaporeans Arrested After 1.6kg Of Heroin Worth $110K Found In Woodlands Flat

At least 1.6kg of Heroin and other drugs were seized from a Woodlands flat. All of these drugs amounted to a whopping $113,000.

Stealthy Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) officers saw one of the suspects exiting the flat.

This was when they caught him and followed him back to his flat where they uncovered the drugs.

If you haven’t yet grasped the seriousness of this, chew on this piece of information: the drugs seized was enough to satisfy the addiction of around 754 drug abusers for an entire week.

The man in question is 48-year-old Singaporean man and the HDB is located near Woodlands Street 13.

Besides the drugs, they also found $11,000 cash and a bottle of methadone which is usually used as a treatment for heroin addiction.

Other drugs that were seized include 25g of Ice and 168g of heroin which were found in a sling bag that the man was carrying. Another 2g of heroin was found in his jeans pocket.

Another woman, a 42-year-old Singaporean female who is believed to be a drug abuser was also arrested at the flat.

Kudos to the CNB officers who managed to nab the suspects and seize the drugs.

Let’s hope that the number of vice activities in our neighbourhoods decreases so Singaporeans will have a safe and wholesome environment to live in.
