Having been young at least once (who hasn’t?), you’d probably know about going crazy over something, right?
You’d probably be, or know, that one person who goes crazy over chasing stars. No, not the ones in the skies. The ones you see on TV.
So here’s the thing: how far are you willing to go for your favourite idol? Far enough to break the law? Because that’s what these two teenage girls did, whether knowingly or not.
Okay, before we go further into the article, I just thought one thing should be made clear.
Misusing boarding pass, in this case, doesn’t mean they used expired ones or tried to fake their way in. They legitimately bought the tickets, except, they did not intend to leave the country.
That’s an offence, btw.
2 Teenage Girls Arrested For Misusing Boarding Pass
So, back to the story.
It was reported on Today Online that two teenage girls, one 16 and another 19, were so “eager to meet their idol” they purchased plane tickets for a flight they never intended to board.
They wanted to enter Changi Airport’s transit area and meet hip-hop idol, Simon Dominic who performed in Singapore on Monday.
They just wanted to enter the transit area. Ladies and gentlemen, that’s breaking the law in case you didn’t know.
That’s an offence under the Protected Areas and Protected Places Act as the transit area is a protected area.
Know this because this news just showed us that saying I don’t know isn’t going to help your case.
36 Caught Committing This Offence Since Jan 2017
Since January this year, 36 people have been arrested at Changi Airport for this exact reason.
The most common reasons for their actions is either sending off their relatives or making fake claims for GST.
If found guilty, individuals can be sentenced up to two years jail term, up to $1000 fine, or both.
Not worth it, really, if you ask me.
