Has someone you know ever acted in a way that thoroughly confused you?

The kind of behaviour that makes you scratch your head until you burrow a hole in your skull.

“Why would they do that?” you ask yourself for days, before giving up on finding an answer.

Well, this story is a bit like that. For days, you’ll wonder why this person did what they did, and still never come up with a reasonable explanation.

Uncle Allegedly Threw Away Food Given by a Person Who Wanted to Help Him

A netizen has taken to social media to air their grievances over an uncle’s inexplicable actions after trying to help him out.

They detailed the incident in a post on the Facebook page Kakis’ Club on Saturday (21 Aug).

One day, when the netizen was in Bugis Junction, they spotted an uncle whom they thought needed help.

Wanting to show a little kindness, the netizen bought a meal from Wok Hey, items from Old Chang Kee, and a cup of coffee for the man.

“[I] passed him the meal and asked him go home earlier for dinner,” the netizen wrote.

But what the uncle did next was rather unexpected, to say the least.

According to the post, the netizen later saw the man walking out of the building, and thought he was on his way home.

Instead, he walked into an alley where there was a row of mobile garbage bins and threw all the food away without having a single bite.

“Not sure why [this] uncle is like that!” the netizen wrote. “It’s my last time to help this Bugis junction uncle.”

Allegedly Waited Outside MRT Station For Money

According to some commenters, the uncle is one of the elderly men and women who sit outside the entrance of Bugis MRT station hoping to get money.

Commenters believed that the uncle wanted money all along, and had no use for food, even if it was tasty food from Old Chang Kee.

One commenter recounted instances where he had donated money to a few elderly people who looked like they were in need, but they ended up spending the money on 4D tickets.

Others believe the man wanted to buy cigarettes or alcohol.

No matter what the man’s reasons were, netizens were disgusted with his actions.
