Video of Cat Rescue is Both Cute & Terrifying, But There’s One More Matter

Unless you’ve been living in a cave for the last two days, or you don’t like those cute furry creatures that roam our streets, here’s one video you should have seen.

It’s indeed heart-warming, cute and extremely terrifying as well, and if the video could record reactions, you would have heard claps when the kitten lands safely on the kitchen floor.

But here’s the thing that we should also take note of: how the heck did the kitten end up there?

I’ve the simple answer for you: the kitten could have jumped out of the window. Like, literally.

If you’re wondering why the kitten did that, you’ll need an animal whisperer to tell you the answer. Cats often jump around the house simply because they’re cats—if not, we would not have cat videos dominating the Internet.

So the question is this: where’s the mesh?

Of course, the cat could have climbed its way there through other openings, and while the flat owner isn’t the cat owner and the owner is from another unit, here’s the more pressing matter.

Anyone who has owned a cat will know this: the top priority of having a cat as a pet is to have meshes on all open windows and doors. This is not just to keep them indoors, but to keep them safe.

Having a cat without meshes in your house is not just irresponsible but dangerous, too: you won’t want your cats to be out in the street disturbing your neighbours or landing ten storeys down your flat.

While it cost some money (a customized one would be more expensive), it’s one of the obligations every cat owner has to have. In organizations like The Cat Museum, they have strict requirements for meshing your windows and doors before adopting their cats.

In other words, this video, while cute, should also serve to send another message: be a responsible cat owner.
