4 VivoCity Stores Including Daiso & Coffee Bean, Visited By Covid-19 Cases Within A Single Day (8 Sep)

Based on the places Covid-19 cases visit, it seems like all Singaporeans do is eat and shop.

This should come as no surprise to you, of course. This is what we were born to do.

As long as MOH keeps adding locations to its list, this trend is unlikely to change.

4 VivoCity Stores Including Daiso & Coffee Bean, Visited By Covid-19 Cases Within A Single Day (8 Sep)

10 shopping malls have been added to the list of public places visited by infectious Covid-19 cases in the community, said the Ministry of Health (MOH) on Tuesday (15 Sep).

This includes HarbourFront Centre, IKEA Tampines, IMM, Junction 8, NEX, Plaza Singapura and Tiong Bahru Plaza.

Hougang Mall and Lau Pau Sat were also added to the list, as well as a Burger King outlet at Changi Airport Terminal 1.

The most notable addition, however, was VivoCity, which had 4 different stores visited on the same day by infectious Covid-19 cases.

The stores are Jean Yip Hair & Hair Spa, The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Daiso, and FairPrice Xtra.

If you visited VivoCity or any of the locations listed, you’re probably sweating at an alarming rate right now, but there’s no need to panic. Just monitor your health for 14 days from your date of visit.

If you develop symptoms of acute respiratory infection, such as a cough, sore throat, runny nose, a fever, as well as loss of taste or smell, please see a doctor immediately and inform them of your exposure history.

For everyone else, avoiding these places is unnecessary as they’ve been thoroughly disinfected and cleaned.

Second Consecutive Day With No Community Cases

Yesterday (15 Sep) was a pretty good day.

Not only did we record a relatively low number of new infections – 34 – but it was also the second consecutive day with no cases in the community.

32 of the cases were asymptomatic, according to CNA.

Migrant workers living in dormitories accounted for 28 cases, including 13 who had already been quarantined as they were identified as contacts of previous cases.

The remaining 15 cases were detected through surveillance testing, without which we would probably assume that all dorms had been completely cleared of Covid-19.

Travellers Issued Wristbands

There were six imported infections in total, two of whom are Singapore residents.The other four include a work pass holder, a work permit holder, and two dependant’s pass holders.

All of them were placed on stay-home notice upon arrival in Singapore.

In addition to quarantine, travellers entering Singapore and serving stay-home notices outside of dedicated facilities will now be given electronic wristband devices, and not because it looks cool.

It allows the authorities to monitor the traveller’s whereabouts through GPS signals.

Travellers are required to wear the wristband for the entirety of their stay-home notice period. They will also be given a gateway device, which they will have to install at their place of residence.

This basically means that there’s no way to sneak out for a bowl of Bak Kut Teh, no matter how strong your cravings are.
