Are you one of those people craving for a trip to Japan, those madly in love with kawaii squishies or those that can’t afford a ticket but craving badly for authentic Japanese cuisine?

Hold on, another question for those that have been to Japan – do you often feel like pulling your hair out when you have trouble communicating with the railway officer in Japan? Due to the language barrier, you might even end up with a ticket to Kyoto when you were planning to go to Tokyo!

If you’re nodding yes to the questions above, fret not, for Japan is coming to you! Not literally the country, of course, just a little piece of Japan but hey, that’s better than nothing at all right?

Japan’s train operator East Japan railway (JR East) is collaborating with the Japan National Tourism Organisation in Singapore to bring about the greatest project of all time.

Japan Rail Cafe
Introducing the Japan Rail Cafe, a themed restaurant that will be located in Tanjong Pagar. The eatery will be starting operations by early November this year.

It is said that this project is in commencement to promote the other travel destinations that you can travel to, in the future besides the already-hot spots like Osaka, Tokyo and Kyoto.

Menus and dishes sold at the cafe will not be fixed and instead, will be changed monthly in accordance with other JR East’s restaurants in Japan.

How cool is that! You’ll be eating the same meal with a whole lot of Japanese locals within the same month.

Additionally, the restaurant will be importing various Japan collectables that will be trending during the current month found in, you know it, Japan’s JR East’s in-station malls.

These collectables will include keepsake items, food products and other merchandises that you’ll surely find so cute and “kawaii“!

If all these doesn’t transport you and feels like Japan enough, why not just go to Japan? With a few months to prepare your savings of course. JR East brings about the ultimate convenience for they are including a ticketing counter that will allow you to purchase rail passes so you won’t have to buy them in Japan! Now you don’t have to use frantic hand gestures to signify your plans to Kyoto by train.
